In early 1992, Dave Hobba had the opportunity to move from Fern Creek, Kentucky to Putnam County, West Virginia. After working as a corporate controller and chief financial officer for ten years, he has been developing property and building homes since 2000. His vision was to use his background in finance and business to start a company that would “raise the bar” in quality land development and general construction.
As of Jan 1st, 2022, he had developed seven separate developments totaling over 400 lots and parcels and built just under 500 homes, patio homes, townhomes, and commercial buildings. Dave currently holds a West Virginia Real Estate Broker’s license and a Bachelor in Finance from the University of Kentucky. Dave’s professional work in construction has earned him honors in the West Virginia Home Builders Associations’ “Best of West Virginia” with awards for his homes, both at a local level and state level.
In 2009, Dave Hobba Builder enjoyed partnering up with Habitat for Humanity; donating the land and his time as the General Contractor to build the 600th Habitat Home in West Virginia. 2012 marked a year that Dave Hobba Builder increased his commitment to making a difference and joined forces with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to volunteer his time and efforts with his committed group of suppliers and sub-contractors – together donated their resources for the build of the 2012 St. Jude Dream Home of West Virginia.
